“If we give pomegranate juice to older men who have been treated for prostate cancer, it may be possible for them to outlive their risk of dying from cancer” and “We may be able to prevent or delay the need for hormone treatment or chemotherapy, which bring harmful side effects.”
The University Of Maryland Medical Center reported that pomegranate health benefits also encompass the possible prevention of cancer. The report goes on to say that there is no specific evidence of that, but in test tubes, extracts from pomegranate juice and oil “slow down reproduction of cancer cells and may hasten their death.” Osteoarthritis sufferers can also benefit from a kind of antioxidant called flavonol found in pomegranate juice. flavonol may act as an anti-inflammatory, blocking inflammation contributing to destroying cartilage.
